Curb
Sitting there on the curb,
Beneath the moonlit sky,
Your arm around my shoulders,
The gentle wind zipping by.
You say you want to be together,
Watch the sunrise in the morning,
Your words sound genuine enough
But I can’t shake the disconcerting.
So many conflicting signs –
Can’t find the line for deal breakers.
Do I continue to tread the water,
And save the heartache for later?
Beneath the moonlit sky,
Your arm around my shoulders,
The gentle wind zipping by.
You say you want to be together,
Watch the sunrise in the morning,
Your words sound genuine enough
But I can’t shake the disconcerting.
So many conflicting signs –
Can’t find the line for deal breakers.
Do I continue to tread the water,
And save the heartache for later?
