Stargazed Nothing
Such fragile words
But did they mean a thing;
Never knowing,
I keep on pretending.
It was snowing outside
But no one could tell;
The fire within burned all else;
Glimmer in the alleyway.
Can’t say what we mean,
How did it come to this;
Was it all in my head?
Never dismissed.
Let’s not pretend
We don’t live
Shattered brittle lives;
Just another stargazed nothing.
So I whisper in the dark,
Do you think of me after all?
It hurts so bad; I can’t -
Unwrap me from this thrall.
But did they mean a thing;
Never knowing,
I keep on pretending.
It was snowing outside
But no one could tell;
The fire within burned all else;
Glimmer in the alleyway.
Can’t say what we mean,
How did it come to this;
Was it all in my head?
Never dismissed.
Let’s not pretend
We don’t live
Shattered brittle lives;
Just another stargazed nothing.
So I whisper in the dark,
Do you think of me after all?
It hurts so bad; I can’t -
Unwrap me from this thrall.
